Pueblo of Laguna Utility Authority seeks a Certified Water Operator and a Non-Certified Water Operator

Regular Full-Time, non-exempt

OPENING DATE: January 28, 2019-CLOSING DATE: Open until Filled

We are seeking a Certified and a non-Certified water operator with skills, experience and confidence to help support our operations. Will need to adapt to various situations, communicate well and be very organized. We are looking for motivated individuals with a proven track record. You must be able to work under pressure and prioritize.

Some of the Certified Water Operator responsibilities include:

Supervises and directs Operations Department field employees in all aspects of water and waste water operations.
Trains and teaches field employees in proper techniques involving water and waste water systems
Operates, maintains and repairs pumping facilities to control flow and treatment of liquids.
Makes daily rounds of the water and sewer system performing a variety of duties pertaining to system operations and maintenance, building maintenance, snow removal and landscape maintenance;
Monitors and orders chemicals and supplies as required;
Collects all monthly compliance samples per bacteria sampling schedule or plan and complete SDWA sampling plan provide by EPA;
This person must also possess good multitasking & problem-solving skills.

Some of the non-Certified Water operator duties include:

Qualifications: Certified Water Operator must carry at a minimum level 1 water operator certification, level 1 waste water.  Non-certified must obtain level 1 water certification with one year. Must have a valid New Mexico Driver’s License with no serious convictions in the past five years and must be insurable under POLUA’s carrier. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
